Within the top list are new technologies such as the Innotab 2 & the LeapPad 2 which are children’s versions of adult ‘toys’ such as the iPad or Kindle which shows this kind of technology is fun for all the family.

By adding new interactive features to old classics make them more appealable to the new generation using them, whether it be apps to add more way to interact with the toys, touch screens or cameras to add new dimensions to toys.

The Guardian has quoted Gary Grant, chairman of the TRA, as saying

“There are some toys that hold an enduring place in the hearts of children for generations, and this year we’ve seen the toy industry come up trumps by reinvigorating these classic favourites for 2012, We also continue to see technology being woven into toys to add extra dimensions to the play experience – whether this is the use of apps, interactivity, touch screens or integrated multi-functions such as e-readers and cameras.”
