Investigation into police conduct to be carried out following the Hillsborough cover up.
Police watchdog IPCC and the director of public prosecutions have announced today they will carry out inquiries into possible crimes committed by police.
Former and serving police officers will be investigated and evidence will be reviewed relating to the deaths of 96 Liverpool fans in the 1989 disaster which could lead to charges of manslaughter.
This comes after last month it was revealed by the Hillsborough Independent Panel that the statements of 164 police officers were altered
Deborah Glass, deputy chair of the IPCC, said “We will do everything in our power to investigate these allegations.”
